“The Wellness Kitchen” BBQ Shrimp

  • 1 tablespoon Spanish smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ancho chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, deveined and peeled
  • 1 lemon
  • 6 green onions, sliced thinly


  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (or saute pan will work as well)
  2. In a large bowl, combine the paprika, chili powder, sugar, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil. Mix well.
  3. Add shrimp to bowl of spices and toss well.
  4. Cut lemon in half and squeeze one half over the shrimp. Cut the remaining half into wedges. Grill shrimp until just pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. To serve, place on platter, sprinkle with sliced green onions, and garnish with lemon wedges.
