A 35th Birthday To Remember

If you’ve browsed our website, you may have heard a little bit about our story, and how we started as one tiny boutique on Sanibel Island. But what you might not realize is that Marvin and Helene Gralnick founded Chico’s 35 years ago this year! In honor of this very special occasion, we invited eleven of our favorite fashion bloggers & style influencers to travel to our headquarters in Fort Myers, Florida and celebrate where it all began; at home on Sanibel. We believe that women should embrace their individual style no matter their age, and each of these ladies exemplify being “bold” in their own ways. Read on for a special peek of the festivities.

Evening, August 14th

We gathered at the Pink Shell Resort on Fort Myers Beach for an evening of welcome cocktails and mingling to kick-off things off. Island sounds filled the air while the steel pan drum musician played tropical music in the background.

There was no “ice-breaker” needed for these ladies! Many of them were already following each other on social media and were ecstatic to meet in person.

A breathtaking sunset painted the perfect backdrop for a photoshoot on the beach.

By the end of the evening, everyone was good friends!

Goodnight!

Morning, August 15th

We gathered at the resort and set off to the Chico’s headquarters for an exclusive tour, where the ladies learned (almost) everything about our process. From design to production and every little step in between.

Psssst… Did you know that we hand-design 400 prints per season?

We ended the tour with brunch and insightful conversation with our Brand President, Diane Ellis & Senior Vice President of Marketing, Shelagh Stoneham.

After brunch, we traveled to the original Chico’s boutique on Sanibel Island for some shopping!

Dina Fischer, the Sanibel Boutique Store Manager, has been with Chico’s since 1989. Her passion for providing the most amazing personal service shines through in everything she does.

Evening, August 15th
After some much needed downtime, (shopping wore us out!) we gathered at the Pink Shell Resort for a lovely dinner, followed by a dolphin (yes – dolphin!) sunset cruise.

Our stylish influencers gathered in the ballroom after dinner.

Morning, August 16th

The whole group gathered on the beach for one last time to enjoy some relaxing beach yoga before saying goodbye.

Custom made 35th Anniversary yoga mats, fruit water & cool towels welcomed everyone to the beach.

It was the perfect way to end an amazing couple of days.

We were so sad when it was over, but we were so grateful to have the opportunity to share what Chico’s is all about with each of these fabulous bold women and now with you! Stay tuned for more on our 35th anniversary… including a very special collection debuting on September 4th!

Happy 35th Anniversary! I have enjoyed many many years shopping at Chico’s in Florida and in several other States. Putting on the great pieces that I purchase makes me feel happy and special when I walk out the door. Cheers to many more successful years and beautiful designs.

Magali ( I m sure I spelled her name wrong
Because of her I get started with Chicos, and at that time Chicos had a much better selections. The colors are brighter, not so much brown beige and the styles were better jackets for sure lady looking big stuff for real heavy people. I’ve lost a lot of interest in Chicos this past couple of years, I still go and check it out see if maybe he picked up the styles, but Not expecting much… and your prices Over the top, for stuff that’s made in China.

    Happy 35th Anniversary
Love style of clothes, many choices, and fit. Love many dresses are at the knee or mid-length for older women. Travel knit is a “must “ for curvy women as well. As I hate paying for shipping love that perk as a reward member.

CHICO’S HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE BOUTIQUE SALON FOR GOOD-LOOKING I BELIEVE SINCE YOU STARTED. YOU JUST CELEBRATED 35 YEARS, WELL I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING SINCE THEN. iN MARYLAND, FLORIDA, NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA, LOUISIANA AND NOW TEXAS. IT IS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO ENTER YOUR SHOW ROOM, THE ASSOCIATES ARE SO FRIENDLY, THE CLOTHING SO SPLENDERIFIC, AND FITS SO BEAUTIFULLY. MOSTLY I CHECK THE SALES RACK, BECAUSE YOUR PRICES ARE GETTING A BIT TOO HIGH FOR MY POCKETBOOK. BUT IA MA VERY FORTUNATE, BECAUSE ALWAYS I FIND SOMETHING THAT LOOKS SMASHING ON MY 4’10” FRAME, IT IS VERY HARD TO FIT SOMEONE SO TINY, NOW WEARING EXCLUSIVELY SIZES 0 ND 1 IN TOPS AND 1.5 IN PANTS…NO SKIRTS FOR ME. MY CLOSET ALWAYS HAS ROOM FOR ONE MORE TEE

THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING AROUND, WISH YOU WERE GOING OVERSEAS TO SHARE YOUR LINE WITH FRIENDS WHEN I GO OFTEN. BUT SURELY THAT IS IN YOUR FUTURE.

My closet is Chico’s I wish you had reviewed styles and colors as they have changed yet remain in the past 35 years. I have most of my original Chico’s purchases and still wear them.

I have been shopping at Chico’s for as long as they’ve had a Houston store. My husband was the one who introduced me to Chico’s. Even being on the opposite side of Houston, and then each time I found another one I would be so happy and now I have them all around me, in Spring, The Woodlands, Texas. I shop on line, then I
shop in the boutiques everywhere. Chico’s think of their customers and make it easy to shop online and if it isn’t right you return to one of the stores. Over the years I have been treated very well with exception of a few times by new people who probably didn’t understand what to do. It is a laid back store and love the accessories as well.
Thank you Chico’s and congratulations for a job well done building your business.
